These panels are revolutionary in their design and proprietary to Uberblok. Configured in standard 2',4', 6', and 8' dimensions and available for interior and exterior cladding. (PiMP)s allow us to to use cutting edge insulation in varying thicknesses depending on thermal, solar shading, and acoustic properties required, as well as flexibility in surfaces as they are designed to accept nearly any material. Living Walls and Living Roofs
Available in 2' square grids, our modular living wall and roof system provides a natural thermal barrier, extends the life of the building envelope, lowers operating costs, provides a simple solution to open space and storm water treatment, and helps correct the heat island effect in urban settings. This system is pre-planted with site-specific native growth and or edible produce and requires little if any effort to maintain.
Renewable Energy Production
By eliminating variables and using the latest in advanced products, we have been able to produce more energy then our buildings need to operate, with little or no custom adaptation required for the intended site. Key features include re-shaped PV panes that are shaped round instead of flat able to produce solar electricity from 360 degrees and micro-inverters that use standard wiring controlling each panel individually. This type of approach maximizes effectiveness while driving down costs at the same time.
Plumbing
Pre-plumbing components that allow grey-water capture and treatment for secondary use as well as integrated storm water collection for thermal mass as well as site irrigation without need for municipal water. Our plumbing menu also includes mainstream composting toilets and waterless urinals providing even more flexibility and the ultimate in water conservation.
Heating and Cooling
Most of our designs and the nature of our airtight structure allow us to primarily rely on natural ventilation without much need for mechanical help. In extreme climates or to meet specific code requirements, several low-cost heating and cooling components have been designed. These include such advanced options as below floor HVAC, ductless HVAC, and geo-thermal or solar radiant heating.
Flip Roof
We have designed our accessory roof structures to face directions depending on where the sun is shining or where shading is most needed. This unique ability also makes it possible to change roof-lines and aesthetics based on local customs or neighborhood covenants efficiently. The traditional gabled roof and more modern deep soffits are all possibilities built-in.
Window & Wall Systems
Because of our embrace of standard dimensions, we are able to offer a long list of recycled aluminum wall systems, window shading, extrusions, and door entry systems that are super high-performance and have been cradle-to-cradle certified as well.
On-board Brilliance
We believe any system that does not provide feedback is stupid by definition. Using open source software coupled with the latest in automation controls, each system in the building provides immediate feedback and reporting of operational status and efficiency as well as allow direct control on-site or remotely via the Internet.
